LYNIA tiles suit projects where a refined, contemporary linear stone surface is wanted. In residential applications, the smooth honed face works beautifully across interior and exterior feature walls, fireplaces and media walls, luxury bathrooms and ensuites, and powder rooms.

What is LYNIA?

LYNIA™ is an interlocking natural stone tile by Norstone. Natural stone is cut into individual strips and mesh-mounted to form a contemporary linear tile. With a smooth honed finish, LYNIA produces a continuous linear pattern across any wall.

What sizes are LYNIA tiles?

Flat tiles are 432mm wide × 381mm high × approximately 12mm thick. Mitred corner tiles are 215/210mm wide × 381mm high. Coverage is 8.5 tiles per m² at approximately 31.5kg per m².

How many colours are available?

LYNIA is available in seven colours: Ebony Basalt, Grey Basalt, Graphite Lavastone, Platinum Lavastone, Glacier Marble, Latte Marble and Silver Grey Quartz. Free samples are available through the Samples page.

Does LYNIA need grouting?

Yes. Unlike Norstone’s stacked stone panels, LYNIA tiles require grout between joints. Always seal the natural stone before grouting and after installation, following the sealer manufacturer’s instructions.

Is sealing required?

Yes. LYNIA must be sealed with a water-based penetrating natural stone sealer both before grouting and after installation. Always test the sealer on a sample piece first.

Can LYNIA be used outdoors?

Basalt and Quartz colours can be used outdoors and in protected wet areas with appropriate sealing. Lavastone colours suit interior and protected exterior applications. Marble colours are best in interiors. Pool surrounds and water features require appropriate substrate waterproofing and sealing.

Can LYNIA be used on columns?

Yes. LYNIA tiles can be used on columns and blade walls when the substrate is suitable and the layout is planned correctly. Corner pieces are supplied pre-mitred for 90° external corners, but they should be installed by an experienced professional stone or tile installer to ensure the corners are aligned, grouted and sealed correctly.

What are typical lead times?
