When a larger format stone veneer is desired, Norstone XL Rockpanels deliver superbly. With approximately 5 to 7 substantially bigger individual stone strips per panel, this exclusive design uses fewer natural stone pieces to form the appearance of stacked stone veneer on a grander scale.

The XL format suits large wall applications where standard panels can look too busy. Bigger stone, bolder statement — the XL series commands attention in any interior or exterior space.

XL Rockpanels include a two-part, finger-jointed corner system — hand-crafted to fit with razor-sharp precision. No mitre cuts, no special tools, no skilled labour. The result is a seamless wrap that flows naturally around every corner. Joints connect superbly. Every match is perfect.

Pre-engineered two-part corner units interlock cleanly at 90° for a continuous, uninterrupted finish around external edges. Faster to install, lower labour cost, and a sharper architectural result than mitred or butt-joined alternatives.

Clean inside corners where walls meet.

Custom-made internal corner units form clean, sharp inside corners wherever two walls meet. Save time, reduce on-site labour, and avoid the compromise of pigmented mortar fills or visible butt joints.

Carefully calibrated stepped ends combined with our finger-jointed corner system mean installation is faster and cleaner than ever. No grouting required. The panels simply lock together for a natural, continuous finish.

What are XL Rockpanels?

XL Rockpanels are larger format stacked stone veneer panels by Norstone, hand-made from Quartz and Quartzite based sedimentary stone. Each panel contains 5–8 substantially bigger stone pieces, with an exclusive stepped interlocking edge that reduces vertical seams by 66% between adjoining panels.

What sizes are XL Rockpanels?

Flat panels are 610mm wide × 152mm high × 15–35mm thick. Corner sets are 400mm face / 200mm return / 152mm high. Coverage is 10.76 panels per m² at approximately 55kg per m².

How many colours are available?

XL Rockpanels are available in four classic colours — Charcoal, Ochre, Ivory and White. All colours are natural Quartz/Quartzite with the inherent variation that comes with natural stone. Free samples are available through the Samples page.

Is sealing required?

Yes. XL Rockpanels must be sealed with a water-based penetrating natural stone sealer both before and after installation. Always test on a sample piece first and follow the sealer manufacturer’s instructions.

Can XL Rockpanels be used outdoors?

Yes. XL Rockpanels are suitable for exterior facades, feature walls, and protected outdoor applications. They are frost resistant. Pool surrounds and wet areas require appropriate substrate waterproofing and sealing of the stone surface.

Do XL Rockpanels need grouting?

No. The stepped interlocking edge profile is designed for groutless installation — the panels lock together cleanly with the joint left open for a clean, natural finish. Standard mitre cutting is also not required, as a finger-jointed two-part corner system is supplied.
